Rededicate 250 is Religious Kayfabe

This morning, Baptist News Global published my opinion article, One Nation Under Which God? In it, I take the position that Donald Trump can’t rededicate the nation to Christianity because it was never dedicated in the first place, and because he has no constitutional authority to establish a religion. Dedicating the nation to the Christian God would certainly be establishing a religion and that is prohibited. With one exception, all people involved in the event are conservative Christian. Clearly, Jesus is headlining the event. In my view, the whole thing is kayfabe — something that looks real but designed to hide how fake it is.
