Federal Government Establishes Christian Worship as Part of 250th Anniversary Celebration
This is what Christian nationalism looks like
Some people doubt Christian nationalism exists or has much influence. They think it is a term to silence Christians in the public square. I disagree and this post provides one reason why I do.
Kyle Mantyla at Right Wing Watch tells us that the Trump administration is partnering with worship leader Sean Feucht to conduct Christian worship services around the country as an official outreach of the federal government. Here is a clip of Feucht announcing the partnership provided by Mantyla:
Feucht says they are “officially partnering together” and “The coolest part is we get to do it together with the Freedom 250 organization, which is the White House/Trump administration arm executing the mandate of celebrating America's 250 year birthday. We're so excited. We have come into an agreement with them to partner together, to collaborate together. They're going to be coming out to some of our events. We're going to be championing other things they're doing and so it's just very, very amazing. It is a dream come true and such a blessing.”
At least one of these partnerships will take place on May 17, 2026 on the National Mall when Trump is calling the country to come to Washington, DC to rededicate the nation to God. It now seems clear that the rededication will be to the Christian god.
All that remains is for Congress to complete the violation of the First Amendment by formally establishing Christianity as the state religion, and for a subservient Supreme Court to agree by somehow finding Christian establishment in the Bill of Rights.
Christian nationalists often share the belief that America is a Christian nation, and the government should keep it that way. Even if everybody in the government isn’t Christian, as long as it helps keep Christianity dominant, then that is what matters. In return, Christians who are favored, such as Feucht, offer support and praise for the government leaders, looking the other way when government actions and policies are sub-Christian.
The founders warned against favoring one religion over another. They warned about persecution. We have seen clergy who protest government policies become targets of attack, both physical and social. Some churches have become targets for ICE operations without consequences, but one church, friendly to the state, is being defended by the Department of Justice. As history has shown, there are clear winners and losers when there is a state religion, and right now Trump-supporting-white-evangelical Christianity is the state religion.

We are currently led by the least "Christian" "president" ever. I believe anyone who finds his sort of "Christianity" of value really lost the plot somewhere. But then, I'm not a believer.
I am, however, a lawyer, former prosecutor, and former judge who holds the unpopular view that the First Amendment means what it says, and is the law of the land. So I look forward to buying and reading your new book. And I thank you for all you do.
Am I correctly remembering that he is a Dominionist?
Christian Nationalists do not preach the Gospel of Jesus of Nazareth. He isn't the Manly Warrior Idol they prefer. However, it isn't surprising that the Big Fool in the White House would lead people into heresy; he wants them all to worship HIM.
