Christian Nationalists do not preach the Gospel of Jesus of Nazareth. He isn't the Manly Warrior Idol they prefer. However, it isn't surprising that the Big Fool in the White House would lead people into heresy; he wants them all to worship HIM.
If you want to read a good book on the topic, I recommend Matthew D Taylor’s The Violent Take It By Force. It’s well-researched and written, and it also helps that it’s “unputdownable.” :)
Trump and company are crossing lines it will be hard to come back from. This is new territory for us and the Constitution is in real danger of becoming nothing more than a museum piece. At best it will be seriously amended. I can remember the words of my 9th grade civics teacher telling us that our freedom was fragile and require constant vigilance. I never thought it was really possible to lose it, we were way past that. The US was too established, too devoted to democracy. Well, here we are. He was right. And I'm afraid too many Americans still don't appreciate this.
I'm guessing "the Christian god" will say thanks, but no thanks. He'll stick with countries like Canada and the Nordic countries, not to mention the people in Africa.
This feels like the Bicentennial years on steroids. I remember the I love America cantata and the patriotic rally Billy Graham manages during Nixon’s administration. If we had screamed this was wrong then.
Oh crap! What a propaganda mess!! Should we put " " around any mention of Christianity when we describe this garbage? We have already started a crusade.
