Why subscribe?

Times they are a-changin’. With retirement from the very serious Grove City College, I plan to write, make music, and laugh a lot. Tune in to find out what’s going on.

A new music project has the same name as the substack: The Throckmorton Initiative. The musical style is instrumental, designed to provide a reflective background to reading and studying. Listen at Amazon or Spotify or just about anywhere you get your digital music.

My interests are varied and I expect to write critically about evangelical Christianity and politics. I will also write about psychology, music, and various writing projects I want to complete.

The first thing to do is complete the second edition of Getting Jefferson Right: Fact Checking Claims about Our Third President. Co-author Michael Coulter and I are working on this now and hope to release it by late summer.
