Having read only a handful of Bonhoeffer's books and maybe 6-8 scholarly papers concerning his life, I am certainly no authority on him. I am increasingly convinced, however, that Eric Metaxas isn't, either. Like many in MAGAworld, especially their exalted leader, he doesn't feel the need to be constrained by truth and facts.
Metaxas is absolutely disgusting and as very little understanding of Bonhoeffer and almost no understanding of the Bonhoeffer scholarship around the world. He is only interested in making Bonhoeffer fit into his MAGA worldview.
While metaxas may be wild in his views. I didn’t read his comment that Bonhoeffer’s relatives were pro hamas / anti Jewish. He listed the family in a list of groups who were purportedly against him - not that the family was liberal scholars , pro hamas, or the family was “whoever it is.” Think you are a little over the top on this one doc.
This triggered the liberal Bonhoeffer scholars, the liberal pro-Hamas, Bonhoeffer family members, whoever it is, it triggered them so that they actually mentioned Project 2025 in their screed against me…

The family read it that way all of the times he has said it. They are the ones that really matter.
I would expect nothing better from anyone involved in Turning Point, but they aren't even clean enough appearing to be called whited sepulchres.
One would think he'd consider the consequences, but, since it's Metaxas, probably not.
